Married life got off to a rocky start for one couple, whose wedding plans were thrown into disarray when their flight was canceled just a day before the big day.
Emma Degerstedt took to TikTok to share their ordeal, revealing that their United Airlines flight to their wedding had been unexpectedly scrapped.
Frantically searching for alternatives, Degerstedt found three other flights, although they were far from ideal. Despite the inconvenience of not sitting together and less-than-ideal flight times, she was determined to make it to their wedding.
However, TikTok commenters were quick to criticize the couple for flying out the day before their wedding, especially during winter.
Despite the backlash, some offered helpful advice, suggesting they explain their situation to the airline for priority treatment or try standby with their wedding attire.
Degerstedt later revealed that their flight was canceled due to their plane being part of the Boeing MAX 9 series, which had been recalled after a door fell off another plane.
With stress levels soaring, Degerstedt shared their ongoing saga with her followers, including the scramble to find alternative arrangements and the stress of being on a plane subject to a recall.
Ultimately, they managed to secure a new flight, albeit with a different airline and to a different airport, but they were relieved to be en route to their wedding at last.
The incident occurred on January 10th, so the couple’s ordeal and subsequent resolution unfolded around that time.
